I want to (again) thank each and every one of you for following along, reading my weekly newsletter, and (hopefully) poking around the publication to see new stories and posts that don’t get included in the newsletter.

Who knows how these algorithms work, but if you’re reading this and AREN’T a subscriber I’d love you to join and what to expect if you do. I’ve been at this just over two months now and things have changed a bit since I published this more in-depth primer which you can read here.

Some broad thoughts:

HONESTY

I’m seeing a number of big “names” both here and on BlueSky who really try to push positive news. Frankly, some of it sounds a bit forced — trolling for engagement because people need some positivity in their lives during these dark days.

I’m not saying that’s all bad, but just know that my brand voice is me, not a means to position myself. I’m on the same roller coaster everyone else is. And let’s be honest, there are more downs than ups. My writing reflects the good, the bad, and the ugly — while I do try to find silver linings in how we can help the larger cause.

INSIGHT

I’m working hard to provide some insight on broader themes, not just rehash the daily shit show — although there’s some of that too that usually doesn’t make the weekly newsletter but is added to the publication.

I’m trying to spot some bigger trends to make people aware of, (as mentioned) provide some actionable information and inspiration, and sometimes mock the whole situation and the goons creating it.

For example, a couple of weeks before Trump’s crazy AI Gaza video I had written something similar that I thought was real dark satire. I reposted and it got quite a bit of traction. Expect more of that, since so much of this crap is so crazy that some satire helps it all go down.

FUN

Beyond some (IMO) witty writing in general, I publish pop culture stuff here too. Probably about 1/3 of the content. I’m doing this because I did it in a different life and missed it. It’s also cathartic to me personally given the daily dumpster fire. Hopefully, some of it might take your mind off things too. It’s important that we embrace the things we love so the fire hose of bad news doesn’t turn us off, which is what the regime wants.

So, please free subscribe. As the publication grows I want it to feel like a community for everyone and would love comments on what you’d like to see and what I can do better. I’d love to also expand and have more people publish stuff here.
