American Mobilization is raising $ for grass-roots groups to organize and mobilize before it's too late.

Is Senator Chris Murphy thinking about running in 2028?

Probably. But, I could give a shit less right now about 2028. We might not have a Democracy by 2028 and assuming that it’s cool to wait until 2026 is taking a giant, giant risk.

I have always like Murphy, and he’s been on the forefront of Trumps corruption and the gravity of the threat since Day One. This is exactly the kind of pro-active movement that needs to fostered now — which will also pay dividend in the midterms.

We have got to mobilize the grass roots in the country and rapidly build the infrastructure for what is almost certain to be the critical need for mass mobilization and coordination between underfunded groups.

In the last number of cycles the Democratic base has proven more than capable of raising money competitive with Republicans even given their corporate advantages. The idea that grass roots money is finite and should be held until the midterms is ridiculous. Democrats and frightened citizens of all stripes are very, very aware of the threat we’re under. They are not 50 bucks, one and done.

They will give now, and they will give during the next election cycle. Trust me, given what’s on the line the money will be there. But, it needs to be harnessed and directed and put to use — now.

The number of groups being funded by American Mobilization is relatively small, but Murphy has promised to grow the target list if they get the funding to invest in others. It should also be a model for other politicians — especially in safe seats or not up in ‘26. And the damn Democratic Party and all its offshoots.

I have not given a dime to a candidate or cause since last fall. I’m chipping in here. You should too.
