FADE IN: The Lacerta Warning Screenplay

NOTE: I’ve written ten feature screenplays and multiple episodes of a series. A number submitted for competition did well, most in first draft format. Logline:
After a mysterious incident involving the space shuttle, Presidential Aide Andrew Shaw travels across Europe, unlocking an alien conspiracy that began at the dawn of civilization. Now, he needs to get back alive to stop a war that will destroy humanity.

Notes:
I’m not a true believer, but I scared myself silly doing the research and writing this script. If I had to do a corny elevator pitch I’d say it’s The West Wing meets Close Encounters. For as “big” a story as it is, it doesn’t rely on outrageous special effects or big set pieces. I think the dialogue is sharp and the story is very believable — drawn from some long-known conspiracy theories and internet lore. I could use an update and maybe a trim, but I think it’s a smart, scary ride.
