POLI•RANT: Is There A Method To Trump’s MAGA Madness?

We're on a road to dictatorship. This may smooth out some bumps for Trump.

The top news in the Trump/Epstein scandal for the last two days has been Trump’s wild and seemingly crazy attacks on his base.

It’s been almost universally covered as a meltdown that goes against all common sense — especially in how it could make a Democratic take-over of the House in the 2026 midterms an almost certainty.

Upon further reflection, I wonder if Trump knows exactly what he is doing.

Trump has two moves in his playbook: Attack, attack, attack and lie, lie, lie. And he has the impulse control of a dog left alone in the house with a raw steak on the floor.

But, he also has one goal: Dictatorship.

And as anyone who knows history, you don’t need an electoral majority to achieve it. Trump is now forcing MAGA make another fundamental choice between a reality many are now starting to see and total acquiescence to his reality. A consolidation of pure and absolute power and time to attack and marginalize those who might dare to question any utterance would fit perfectly into his Dictatorship agenda.

What if he has plans to subvert the 2026 midterm elections? These aren’t unfounded fears and there are concepts of Trump plans out there already. What if the plan is for Martial Law well before that and we don’t have elections unless monitored by Trump Regime officials? There were reports just yesterday that Trump officials are attempting to do exactly that in every state.

I do believe that the information about Trump and Epstein is so horrendous that he can’t allow it to come out. At any cost. It may be an imperative to attack his base, but, doing that also serves a larger purpose.

Trump controls all branches of the federal government and his proxies control a majority of the states. And he’s dismantling our Democracy on multiple fronts. Maybe we need to put this seeming madness into the same bucket.
