POLI•RANT: Enough Yelling About The 25th Amendment

Use even your posting time for something more constructive.

I despise Donald Trump with every fiber of my being. I scare myself sometime realizing that I could have such deep and bitter feelings about anyone, let alone someone I’ve never met.

So, yes, I get the frustration people have — with so much terrible going on and so little being done about it. But people need to stop with the social media posts that go something like this:

Donald Trump is a crook. He MUST be IMPEACHED NOW. Invoke the 25th Amendment and REMOVE him from office IMMEDIATELY!

Folks, if you don’t know the 25th Amendment must be invoked by a majority of the cabinet and the Vice President. That is unlikely in almost any scenario — including (and I’m barely kidding) death. The fucks would Weekend at Bernies Trump’s corpse around the country so as to not lose his cult MAGA core.

As for impeachment — I’ve long called for credible members of Congress (not Shri Thanedar) to file of articles of impeachment on a regular basis. Nothing will happen with them, but it will at least keep his crimes in the public eye.

It would take a GIANT escalation by Trump for House and Senate Republicans to get anywhere close to that. I think if he turned troops on American it might happen, and that is a distinct possibility.

I’m not trying to be be mean, but you’re wasting your breath yelling into BlueSky bubble or here about something that’s not even close to happening.

Listen, you’re reading this because of Trump. I started this publication and joined BlueSky after the election to try to do something that might help — even in the smallest way. I don’t pretend that what I write is important in the grand scheme of things, but it might a little.

Yes, we all need to shit post and let off steam.

But, instead of calling for the 25th Amendment again, share an informative article someone might not have read. Write down your personal feelings or stories about how Trump’s actions will hurt you and your family. Pass on the location of a demonstration in your area to friends and family. Try to convert folks who can still be reached. Share a good post and follow more like-minded people so we can all grow together.

Even on our phones or laptops we can make a difference. Every little bit helps.

I hope things like this might better inform people, that they might share it with their reachable friends, and that they have a few more fact to fight the disinformation and propaganda online and in real life.
