Supernatural Thriller
NOTE: I’ve written ten feature screenplays and multiple episodes of a series. A number submitted for competition did well, most in first draft format. Logline:
Only a young girl trapped in the past can save two couples that stumble across a sinister island that is ready to claim its next victims.
Brief Synopsis:
Two young couples sailing in northern Lake Huron stumble across a sinister island that is ready to claim its next victims. Only a young girl trapped in the past can help these friends survive the mesmerizing power of the ancient evil that controls it.
Notes:
I was inspired to write this after traveling to the spooky island in question on a sailing trip to the North Channel in norther Ontario. This is actually the fastest screenplay I ever wrote — I think only two weeks to bang out a solid first draft.
I’m not much for modern horror movies, so my idea for the style and tone of this was to bring back a more realistic supernatural “ghost story” without all the torture porn that does nothing for me.
More than any other screenplay I’ve written, I did this with shooting it on a shoestring budget in mind. I have lots of production notes and thoughts on how this could be filmed. So, if you’re looking for a movie to produce in one of the most beautiful places in the world, lemme know.
