NOTE: I’ve written ten feature screenplays and multiple episodes of a series. A number submitted for competition did well, most in first draft format. I think each and every one is worthy of further development. If you are in the business and would like more info on what I have posted (and more!) feel free to reach out.
Logline:
Grace Juneau came a generation too early. With the voice of Patsy Cline and lyrical prowess of Dylan, this is her untold story — her loves, her demons and her rise from bayous of Louisiana to the brink of stardom.
Brief Synopsis:

Notes:
I wrote this almost as exercise. But, I don’t think that erases the merits of it as a story. I was getting really deep into the music of Neko Case. She has such an old soul sound in her music and it made me ponder the story of a singer/songwriter from a different era. Also, the first thing that made me cry writing it. Than again, I am a sucker.
I also drew heavily on my childhood in the south — especially Louisiana.
Given that this is literally filled with specific music, I never submitted it for competition since that’s so frowned upon with spec scripts. It is one hell of a soundtrack. Hear below.
